An Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding Two Millions Five hundred and Eighty-seven thousand Eight hundred and Ninety-eight Dollars and Eighty Cents to the Public Service of the Year 1899.

WHEREAS the expenditure required for the service of this Colony for the year 1809 luas, apart from the contri- bution to the Imperial Government in aid of Military Expenditure, been estimated at the sun of Two Millions Five hundred and Eighty-seven thousand Eight hundred and Ninety-eight Dollars and Eighty Cents: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :---

1. A sum not exceeding Two Millions Five hundred ami Eighty-seven thousand Bight hundred and Ninety-eight Dollars and Eighty Cents shall be and the same is hereby charged upon the Revenue and other funds of the Colony for the service of the year 1899, and the said sam so chargel may be expended as hereinaftor specified, that is to say --
